A Great Game, Astro Avenger!

Most children and more and more adults dream and day dream of living a more exiting life where there fantasies can come true. So if one of your fantasies is of being a fighter pilot and fighting against the evil emperor then this is a great game.

Through Astro Avenger you can play the role of a pilot who is on a mission to fight the evil Emperor and his pirate armada. They have forcibly overthrown the rightful ruler of your empire and are planning for more attacks throughout. You first need to inform the imperial troops of the calamity so that they can join you in fighting the evil Emperor.

However, as you can guess, that is easier said than done. Especially when the imperial troops are quite some distance away and the enemy is blocking every path to make sure you do not reach them. What do you have with you to aid you in your battle, your ship, designed especially for long travel and with a capacity for both sustained firepower and rapid-fire rounds.

This game works very much the same way as a classic shooter. You have enemies shooting you from all sides and you shoot back. But in reality, the game play is anything but this simple. You start off by facing weak attacks but armed with weak weapons. As you succeed at every level, you can not only repair your ship but also upgrade it. An interesting feature of this game are the Vendor stations where you can get fancy enhancements for your ship and which ones you choose can be crucial in how effectively you can mount an attack.

At every level you will have to fight new kinds of enemy ships, which adds to the excitement. At times, they will appear in huge numbers leaving you confused on which front you should be attacking first. Each stage will have a level of difficulty higher than that of the previous one and your enemies will be stronger and more ruthless. You will have to work on your strategy as well as your manoeuvring tactics at the same time deciding which missiles you should be using first. Try using the missiles you have at your disposal to nullify the opposition attack.

After completing the major levels, you will come face to face with one of the most powerful bosses on the gaming scene. It is never easy to deal with such a powerful adversary but eliminating the smaller troops first and then concentrating on the boss will help you save your firepower for the last. If you win this battle, some more of the story will be revealed to you and you can proceed to some more of the action.
