Rock Band 2 is the second instalment of Harmonix Music Systems popular game – Rock Band. One of the things that made Rock Band popular among masses is its ability to make us experience what it is like to be a rock star. Rock band and rock band 2, both come in the music-stimulation genre of gaming industry and share their gene with Guitar Hero Another popular music-stimulation game. Although stimulation games are available for some time now, music stimulation is an entirely new concept.

Basic Concept of Rack Band 2 is very simple and task based. A player is given a task of playing along with their favourite rock anthems by pressing different colored notes, as they are shown on the screen. One can play guitar, drums and even sing simultaneously with a song of choice.

If you want to play a guitar, just hit the proper color button and strike a proper fret as shown on the screen. For a drum, colored drum pad and bass peddle are used. You can also sing along the song and try to match pitch of the song that is shown on the screen. Rock Band 2 takes its concepts from various other games and packages them well for game that is just perfect.

Rock band 2 shares its game play with the previous Rock band game. Although same, it does have some great improvements over its predecessor. One of the great things that happed with Rock Band 2 is that you can use all your Rock band and Guitar hero equipment with it.

Although there is an equal support for Guitar and vocals, playing drums is taken to the next level with Rock band 2. There is a huge collection of drum focused songs and drum solos which would make you drum frenzy. Rock Band 2 has a collection of over 80 songs, most of which are hits, so you are sure to have your favourites to play. Even though choice of songs largely depends on ones taste, there are also a large number of seemingly no-fun songs too.

Previous owners of Rock Band can have all their songs imported to Rock Band 2 by transferring them to their hard drive. The new song browser in Rock Band 2 looks like an online library and also tells you the level of difficulty related to individual instruments before selecting the song.

Rock Band 2 gives a whole new experience with single player mode. Now users do not have to unlock each and every song in the list, if you have a full band or not, you can still take part in a world tour. World tour takes Rock Band 2 to its full potential.

You can play with a group of friends or all by yourself. The game also supports online multiplayer so you are able to play online, along with your friends. World tour lets you tour the world and play gigs at different destinations, while earning cash, fans and unlocking other songs along the way.

If you have Rock Band and like it, you will definitely love Rock Band 2, and if you’ve not played any music stimulation game before, this is a great one to start with, but it is an addictive game a play.
