Halo Video Game Reviews
Personally I love the halo games and even after several years I still love to pick up the game that stated it all off and lose my self for a couple of hours. Let’s face it; some of these games can be expensive.
For birthdays and Christmas you may need to get the new ones but just a quick gift for yourself or someone you know why not pick up a classic game. Classic nowadays could mean last years game at a fraction of the price if you know where to look.
So lets talk about one of my old favourites, Halo: Combat evolved.
Halo: Combat evolved is perhaps the highest quality first-person shooter game that you can find in the market. The main character in Halo: Combat evolved is the Master Chief, a cyborg commando! Though nothing much is mentioned about his history or background, his reputation seems to precede him.
The action takes place sometime in the distant future where space bound missions are common and the Earth is protected both from above and on ground. In the game, Earth is in danger from aliens who are known only as The Covenant.
As the game starts, you wake up – not from any ordinary sleep, but cryo sleep to discover that the Covenant want to lay their dirty hands on a mysterious though powerful artefact which could give unlimited powers to its owners – the Halo. And of course, whom does Earth turn to for help – you! As the Master Chief.
The game proceeds with your ship overwhelmed by The Covenant troops and you with the help of your allies have to first defend your ship and then destroy them before it is too late. The combats are pretty engrossing s– Covenant soldiers sneak behind you along passageways but as your allies fight the front line you can reach the main group and destroy them. So, though a single shooter game, this uses far more co-ordination between the allies and Master Chief to repel the Covenant attack.
However, the Covenant also does not let you alone for long, identifying which place you were seen at last and sending in troops to take you down before you can recuperate or recharge your shields. You can carry only two weapons at a time, which forces you to decide wisely which ones you can use in what situation. One may allow you to hit a large target like a tank but another may allow you to release a large number of rapid-fire rounds.
All combats in Halo are very challenging and the situations change so dramatically that you are in a new combat every time. Reactions are different every time you play it even though certain situations may be similar. One time if an enemy troop is close by he may try to rush you and take you down while in another, he may just throw a grenade at you allowing a comrade to escape.
Always expect the unexpected seems to be the guiding principle and even your allies behave like that. They anticipate many moves of the enemy troops and guide you to behaving in a way that can protect yourself and your troops. Proceeding in this fashion, your ultimate goal is to reach the Halo and make sure it does not fall into enemy hands.
