The Witcher Video Game Review

Even though the Witcher had its launch in 2007 its still is one of the most popular fantasy games of recent years. The Witcher has received over 90 awards for its excellence in providing an ultimate gaming experience. The Witcher is developed by CD Projekt and distributed under the label of Atari all around the world.

The Witcher

It is good to know that all the success has not gone to the head of CD Projekt guys. New enhanced edition of The Witcher works on the parts on which it lacked a consistent feel. The general gameplay experience of The Witcher has been enhanced by the addition of character animations that are smoother and much faster then the previous version. 2 new quests were added to increase the game length. Upgrading of inventory and alchemical system is done to take care of all the faults in combat area.

The Witcher revolves around the story of ‘Geralt of Rivia’ (Main Character). The game opens with Geralt, being asked to cure the daughter of king foltest from being turned into a feral monster. This first stage of this game works as a tutorial and familiarizes the user with the principles of whicher-work. The story continues and Geralt finds himself in the witcher stronghold of Kaer Morhen. Here, he is told that he was found unconscious by the fellow witchers in a field. Strangely, Geralt is not able to remember anything before the accident. In the game, we as Geralt have to make decisions that unfold the past life of Geralt – The Witcher.

The Witcher is utmost known for its stunning graphic detail and life like character animations. CD Projekt guys, in the enhanced version, have reworked many character animations and graphics to make it better, faster and dazzling then the previous. The graphical experience that one gets by seeing moonlight shimmer on the water surface, or by a close up of fire reflected in the eyes of a character is simply amazing.

Game play of The Witcher is known for its realism. Characters react to actions, dialogues and environmental changes, which looks very real. It is common for people to take shelter and cry for help when it is raining or they are in problem. While in combat, an archer would stop firing bows and get ready for close combat if you rush towards him. The story in the game depends on the choices you make. This adds a whole new dimension to its realism.

The Witcher gives two modes of gameplay. One uses keyboard and mouse while other uses mouse to a larger extent and is usually suitable for casual players only. Although Geralt can use three different weapons, his sword is the most effective choice as it lets you use some exciting Witcher style moves.

Initially, Gerald is not capable of doing great things. The skill level or the talent of Geralt gets increased by killing monsters. Once a specific number of talents are collected, the player can choose from a wide range of abilities.

The Witcher is a path breaking game that has redefined fantasy genre. Its detailing in graphics, scenarios, gameplay and sounds is simply an exhilarating experience gamers would remember for life.

Guitar Hero III Video Game Review

Come-on we can all relate to wanting to be a guitar player at some stage. Play the air guitar to songs at home or at clubs. Now we can do it with a bit more style and without looking like we should be locked up!

Guitar Hero III

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock carries the passion for music forward from Guitar Hero. The main game play has not changed other than some minor tweaks here and there, and the amazing list of hot tracks it supports is the best that any game has. There are improvements in the graphics and the level of difficulty of some of the songs is at an all-time high, making it even more challenging for dedicated gamers. Guitar Hero III offers some of the most awesome content as compared to any other music game in the market.

Guitar Hero III has a guitar controller with a strummer and a set of five fret buttons. The way the game is played is as follows – you can see the notes appear on the screen and you need to hit the matching buttons as quickly as possible to create the music. Guitar Hero III has a stunning collection of hit soundtracks and playing it should give you as much pleasure as having created them yourselves. Not limited to one age or genre, the list encompasses popular songs from across many generations and genres.

You will find classic rock singles like Santana’s ‘Black Magic Woman’ and ZZ Top’s ‘LaGrange’. Plus you will find alternative rock pieces selected from the 90s era sung by groups like Red Hot Chilli Peppers or Pearl Jam. There’s even room for some heavy metal classics like Slayer’s Raining Blood or Metallicas One.

Fans are bound to be pleased with the much higher quality of the music that Guitar Hero III brings with it.

Despite the increase in difficulty level the game provides for hours and hours of intense fun and a music lover can just lose himself in it. There has not been much change in the game play though it has been adjusted to accommodate all the great numbers that have been introduced in this version. There has been an effort to make it easier to pull out hammer-ons and pull-offs and you can hit really great set of single notes more smoothly than before, which considering the extreme difficulty in some songs, was highly desired.

In fact, players can now see which notes can be pulled off or may be hammered on, as those particular notes are shown glowing brightly on the screen.

Another additional feature – the game will keep track of all your note streaks allowing you to concentrate on playing the game. In fact, knowing that you are going to be completely lost in creating these amazing rock numbers, there are also regular text messages flashed across the screen to remind you of which streak milestone you have reached. There are major design improvements in the way the star-power meter is shown and even in the score tracker itself.

Guitar Hero III truly contains almost all the legends of rock and for any gamer who is also a hard rock fan, this is as perfect a combination as one can wish for.
